On August 6th, 2013 we got on the bus bright and early to commence our camping trip at Circle X Ranch in the Santa Monica Mountains with NatureBridge. Once we got to the actual camp ground, we unloaded the bus and quickly were split into our groups, each led by a NatureBridge Field Science Educator. We were going to go hiking right away to commence the trip. Ruben's, Patrick's and Tamara's groups all went up to Sandstone Peak while Becky's and Sarah's group hiked down to the Grotto. The grotto is an about 1.3 mile hike and Sandstone peak is an about 1.7 mile hike with an elevation of 3111 ft.

At the end of the hikes everybody came back together to the camp grounds to assemble their tents. Everybody worked as a team within their assigned tent arrangements. When they were done they had free time until dinner. Some students hung around in the camp grounds, the basketball area, took a shower during their assigned shower time or got there stuff ready for the night activity.
At dinner everybody enjoyed their food and each others company. After dinner they had more free time in the lodge, playing boards games before we had our night activity. Before the first night was out we had an Astronomy lesson taught to us by Ruben and Becky, the Field Science Educators. During our Astronomy lesson everybody enjoyed the beautiful night sky full of stars and stories. Finally it was bed time, everybody went into their tents and went to sleep. (Yeah right).
